This pre-1986 transferable Colt Thompson Submachine Gun Model of 1921AC, serial number 8370, was manufactured by Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Mfg. Co. of Hartford, Connecticut, for Auto-Ordnance Corporation of New York and is chambered in .45 ACP. The receiver bears the “MODEL OF 1921, NO. 8370” marking, Colt manufacturer markings, Auto-Ordnance Corporation markings and patent dates. This select-fire Thompson operates using a Blish lock-delayed blowback action and features selectable FULL AUTO and SINGLE fire modes, a separate FIRE–SAFE safety, finned barrel with Cutts-style compensator and front sight blade, rear receiver-mounted sight, checkered walnut pistol grip, vertical walnut foregrip and detachable walnut buttstock. It accepts detachable Thompson-pattern box or drum magazines and retains a blued finish with handling wear.
